The hidden gem
At the far end of the Engelbergertal valley, a small cable car takes you up to the Fürenalp. Alternatively you can take the challenging Fürenwand via ferrata up to the alp. At the top, a fascinating view awaits you, which you can enjoy on the sun terrace of the mountain restaurant or start a hike right away. Various routes lead either back to Engelberg or further back into the Surenental valley, passing the unspoilt Alps and along sections of the Alpine Cheese Trail. In winter a small sledge run as well as snowshoe and winter hiking trails await you.
