Backstage the art exhibition

A former shoemaker's cottage, an unused bowling alley or the attic of a hotel - the exhibition takes place in the most unusual spaces in Engelberg. Over 50 artists from Switzerland and abroad showed their works.

Backstage 2024 - 22 June to 18 August.

At the invitation of curator Dorothea Strauss, around 50 artists from Germany and abroad showed their works - paintings, drawings, installations, sound pieces, objects and video works.

So different as the works are, they all share a common theme: the unique power of art to lead us into hidden worlds. "The magic of the exhibition venues in Engelberg creates a fascinating setting for the experience that engaging with art helps us to remain curious and discover the reality beneath the surface" said Dorothea Strauss about the exhibition.
